Appointment Availability Platform
An independently developed platform for monitoring changing appointment availability and presenting updates through a centralised dashboard.
Overview
This personal software project explores how browser automation and clear interface design can make appointment availability easier to monitor. It combines a TypeScript backend with a lightweight dashboard to present collected information in an accessible format.
The challenge
Availability can change frequently, and repeatedly checking scheduling interfaces can be time-consuming. The aim is to create an understandable, maintainable way to collect changes and show the latest available information.
The approach
A Node.js and TypeScript backend uses browser automation to gather availability information. The results are organised for presentation in a web dashboard, with attention to refresh behaviour, error handling and performance.
Key capabilities
Automated availability checks, categorised dashboard views, refresh and system-status indicators, and browser push notifications. The architecture is being extended to support additional configurations.
Technology and development
TypeScript, Node.js, Express, Playwright, Web Push and Docker. Development continues with an emphasis on reliability, efficient collection and maintainable application structure.
